A IMPACT OF OPENNESS TO EXPERIENCE ON KNOWLEDGE SHARING UNDER THE MEDIATING EFFECT OF INTENTION TO SHARE KNOWLEDGE AND MODERATING ROLE OF INTERPERSONAL TRUST

T he purpose of the study was to test the relationship between openness to experience and knowledge sharing under the mediating effect of intention to share knowledge and moderating effects of interpersonal trust. The data were collected from employees working in the public sector in Pakistan, with the sample size of 185. The results indicated that openness to experience significantly and positively predict knowledge sharing among employees, although the results showed that intention to share the knowledge does not mediate the relationship between the two. Similarly, as per findings, interpersonal trust failed to moderate the relationship between intention to share knowledge and knowledge sharing. Implications of the study are also discussed which provide a way forward to decision makers in the organizations in finding how to use knowledge sharing in the contextual settings of Pakistan.
